The answer is simple: everyone! Being a good mom isn’t about how much money you spend or how many opportunities you give your kids; it’s about loving your kids no matter what, teaching them right and wrong, and helping them be the best version of themselves, not who you think they should be.

The Secret to Being a Good Mom

Being a good mom means guiding your child to be the best version of themselves while making sure you are the best version of yourself. It's easy to get carried away as a mother and forget to take care of yourself.

Here are some tips on how to be a better mom and achieve your goals:

1. Take time for yourself

Self-care is the number one secret to being a good mom, because if you're not your best self, how can you expect to raise healthy, happy kids? Taking care of yourself is advice I wish I could have shared with my grandfather. Sometimes making time for yourself means saying "no" to your kids. When you have free time, take a bubble bath or read a book for 10 minutes.

2. Love her unconditionally

One of the biggest mistakes new mothers make is trying too hard to be perfect. You will make mistakes so instead of thinking about it, think about why you were a mom in the first place. Loving your child unconditionally doesn't mean giving up everything they want at any time.

Unconditional love means you support her in all her life decisions whether you agree with it or not. It means you love her unconditionally and expect nothing in return.

3. Take care of your body

Eating right and getting enough sleep not only benefits your physical health, but it also makes you feel better when you rest and eat healthy. Not to mention kids use up a lot of energy. Chasing your kids for the 50th time that day won't feel like a struggle when you have more energy and better physical fitness.

4. Teach them what is right and what is wrong

Teaching your children right and wrong only happens when you teach them. The little things you do also show you how to behave responsibly, care for others and respect yourself. Children learn best by example.

You can teach them from a very young age, just by showing them in everyday life.Through kindness, compassion for others, and a good example, you will teach them to be strong for the next generation.

5. Give them opportunities, but don’t overschedule

It's great to get your kids involved as long as they like. It's okay to say no if your child is constantly overworked and never has time for himself.

With my kids, I give them the chance to try new things; if they like it, we continue, and if they don't, we can subscribe again. If they don't like it, I encourage them to end the meeting, especially in teams, and let them know they don't have to do it again in the future.

With this, I discovered activities my two kids love to do and others they don't. But they've tried everything to make sure they don't like it.

6. Take them out into the world

In today's society, kids are always indoors with their tablets, laptops or video games. To understand how the world works, children need to get out and be exposed to new experiences. Some specific skills and experiences cannot be wiped off the screen. Check out these great outdoor activities for kids.

Experiencing the world in real time gives them a deeper understanding of certain things. Show them the world and all the beautiful things it has to offer. They will be amazed at how much they learn and how curious they become about the world.

7. Encourage their individuality

Don't try to make your kids what you want them to be; encourage them to be who they are naturally. If that means dressing your son in pink, or buying your daughter a book with a princess on the cover, so be it.

It will be best if you accept your child's unique traits and interests.Maybe they don't like what you do or are interested in the same hobbies, and that's perfectly fine. You can't force her to enjoy what you love. Love them for who they are and support their personal choices.

8. Stay as close as possible to your family

Dealing with the mother can sometimes create friction in the family, but it's important to keep those lines of communication open and not let things get out of hand. Whether you have a large family with many extended family members, or it's just you, communication is essential.

Make sure your child knows they can talk to you about anything and come to you with any questions. The more you know about what's going on, the easier it will be to figure out how to help everyone involved. Sometimes you may need to listen to them, and sometimes you need to help them find a solution. Either way, they'll know you're there for them.

9. Get rid of stress

If you're feeling stressed out, let go and focus on yourself for a minute (we're not talking about another bubble bath). Everything else is easier to handle if you're not as tense and exhausted.

Don't feel pressured to do everything yourself. Sometimes being a good mom means asking for help and knowing when to ask for it. You should not do this alone.

10. Let them make some mistakes

No matter how good their parents are, every child makes mistakes at some point in their life. If you allow your children to learn for themselves what is right and what is wrong, they will grow into the adults they want to be.

The hardest thing about being a parent is believing that you did the best you can and that you are capable of handling challenging situations. By following most of these tips, you can be confident that you're a good mom and that her mistakes won't hurt too much. All kids make mistakes, but it will be an asset to know that you are there for them no matter what.
